Case Study: Daily content for 90 days

I hear about how much value content creation is to bringing more visitors to a website.

I’m not going to get caught up on creating the perfect case study. More importantly, this is as much for me to create content on a consistent basis and seeing the pros and cons of doing it. Also, by doing this, it keeps me accountable and motivation to do it.

Plan

Topics, Ideas, and Inspiration

Other than writing, coming up with topics, ideas, and inspiration will be difficult. Especially, my mind isn’t used to thinking about writing in order. It jumps around. As I am writing this, I am actually jumping between sections. Tools I plan on using to help with this is Feedly and Google Alerts.

Write at least 1 article/video a day.

This will be the most difficult part. Thinking about different content to write and what to write. I normally do not write that much. So, I’ll be going from pretty much 0 to daily. Hopefully, I can convince my wife to help proofread my content.

Publish 1 article a day.

I will publish an article on our Design Source Media WordPress blog site. I will likely need to keep a schedule. Some days are so busy I may not have time to sit down and manually post it.

Share it on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Design Source Media has a Facebook, LinkedIn, and the Twitter page I can share content on. We also have Google+ but no one uses that. With these channels, I’ll also be sharing content on those platforms.

Create a weekly newsletter to our customers and subscribers.

On a weekly basis, I’ll be creating a newsletter on ActiveCampaign to share to our customers and subscribers.

Report Findings

Criteria

Not worry about the topic to write about. Just write things I’m interested in regarding business, web and marketing.

It will be hard enough writing daily. I don’t want to give myself reasons for not writing at all. I will be writing about things I am passionate about and/or things that will help others.

Do not worry about perfect grammar

My English teachers will probably have a heart attack if they saw this. But the best way to improve for me is to actually write and receive constructive criticism.

Shared on Social Media

Through this, I should see an increase in traffic/referrals from social media sites.

Weekly Newsletter

Now that I finally will start to have content. Through this, I hope to grow the subscriber base through valuable information. If you’re interested in subscribing, click here.

Questions

Hopefully, through this case study, I hope some of these questions will be answered.

  1. Does producing content everyday drive more traffic to the website and how much?
  2. Is doing this a sustainable method of marketing a business?
  3. How can I improve the process of producing content?

Baseline and Tools for tracking

Google Analytics will be the main tool we will be using.
